You’re sitting in church singing with the rest of the congregation and realizing how beautiful the church choir sounds. Don’t get it wrong, for the most part, they do not just get up there every Sunday, start singing and sound the way they do. Many church choirs have practices as well as participate in concerts, especially around the Christmas time. In other words, the beautiful sound heard every Sunday doesn’t necessarily come without hard work. Many church choirs practice for hours throughout the week and practice is not cheap. Nor is the cost of getting to the concerts and other arenas where they might perform. Therefore, many church choir fundraisers are established in order to help with the cost the choirs incur.
Whenever holding a church choir Fundraiser, do a little homework first. One of the first things that need to be done is to determine who will head up the fundraiser. Typically, but not always, this is the choir director. Sometimes this duty might be handed off to one of the church choir members. Another good thing to determine is to have a set dollar amount that the choir needs to raise. This will establish a goal that the choir can go for.
There are many different ways for a church choir to raise money. Some of which include selling candles, Discount Cards, Scratch Cards or candy, to name a few. Another way for a church choir to hold a fundraiser is to do a sing-a-thon. The choir singing for a certain period of time or simply singing a certain number of songs in a row can do this. To raise money the choir members would ask for lump sum donations or ask others to sponsor them by donating a certain dollar amount for each hour they sing or for each song they sing.
No matter how it is done, holding church choir fundraisers are a great way for the choir to raise the money needed in order to pay for all the expenses. So remember, the beautiful sound you hear every Sunday doesn’t come without expense and fundraising is definitely a great answer.
