How About Trying Lunch Fundraisers?

Lots of groups hold spaghetti dinners for fundraisers. But getting people back up to the school or church for a dinner is sometimes difficult. Many times it is much easier to hold school lunch fundraisers.

Lunch fundraisers can be held during the work week or on weekends. There are three distinctly different approaches to lunch fundraising.

The first option is to contact a local restaurant and set up a specific day where they will donate a percentage of their proceeds to your group. There are lots of national chains that provide this type of lunch Fundraiser option. The important thing you need to do to make sure this type of event raises the money you need is to advertise it and promote it everywhere. This option reduces the need to cook and clean, but it requires just as much effort to let the community know that they should visit your sponsor restaurant on fundraising night.

The way you promote the lunch fundraiser will not only affect the results you get from that day’s fundraiser, it will also have a huge bearing on whether the restaurant would want to do similar events in the future. Remember, the restaurant owner needs to benefit from the fundraiser too with increased traffic and continued business from the community. That is the reason they will give you a percentage of sales.

The second lunch fundraiser option is very similar to the first. This time, though, your group volunteers to act as waiters and waitresses and keep your tips as the source of fundraising. This option also requires promoting the event. Many people will give extraordinary tips to Fundraising Groups that are working for tips. If you choose this option, try to choose a restaurant that gets strong traffic whether you promote the event heavily or not.

The third type of lunch fundraiser is one where your group prepares or at least serves the food for supporters. Schools might take advantage of this option by inviting parents to eat lunch with their students on a special day. Not only will you raise money but also promote involvement with the school and their children.
