Inexpensive Prom Fundraising Ideas
Looking for easy, inexpensive Prom Fundraising ideas? Prom is a night to remember, and as such, it can get pretty pricey. It will take the participation of most of the student body, but if everyone works together, it can be easy to raise enough funds to have a beautifully decorated prom!
How about a pre-prom hair show? Girls are always wondering what to do with their hair for prom. Charge admission to a show and hold it after school in the gym or other common area. Grab several girls and a talented mom style hair in front of the crowd, explaining how to achieve the style and what to ask your hairdresser for.
You could also do a bake sale! Have different clubs from your school take turns each week and host a bake sale. You could offer creatively decorated, funky cupcakes from the art department, and delicate French deserts from the foreign language club. How about homemade apple pie from the FCCLA? Work with each club to develop their unique spin on the bake club, then promote it heavily. Encourage students to bring pocket money to school and try all kinds of different treats!
Since it's always smart to start planning ahead of time, why not do a holiday gift wrapping fundraiser? This is a prom fundraising idea that makes quite a bit of money because it's so cheap to do! Raid your local dollar store or wholesale store for large amounts of cheap wrapping paper. You'll also need to stock up on bows and ribbons. You can buy gift tags, or you could even just ask the art department to donate several abstract holiday-themed paintings on cardstock that you can cut into card shapes to use as gift tags. Set up your booth several weeks before the holidays and encourage students to donate $1 per gift wrapped. Many people hate wrapping their presents, so this is a popular thing to buy during the holidays!
